Ceiling Fans – Lights or No Lights?
If you are looking for an inexpensive way to keep your home aired and cool during the summer months then a ceiling fan is just the thing for you. Ceiling fans have become more and more popular over the last few years and due to this high demand there are thousands of stylish and designer fans to choose from. There are two main design features for ceiling fans which is that some have lights and some do not and are solely a ceiling fan. Here we look at each option in turn to see which fan is better suited to which room or home.
Ceiling Fans with Lights
The light of the ceiling fan is situated in the middle and the paddles of the fan are placed around it. The styles of the lights are varied and match the style of the paddles of the fan. The great thing about this option is that it is two functions in one; there is no need to purchase a main ceiling light because it is incorporated into the fan. This is perfect if you have limited space in the room as there is no need to take up extra space with two fixtures, you can have an all in one.
Ceiling Fans without Lights
The other option is to choose a ceiling fan without a lighting feature. This is the perfect option if you already have a main light in the room where the fan will be placed. If you were to place another main ceiling light right next to an existing ceiling light the room would appear crowded and it would look silly. Ceiling fans without lights simply have the paddles with the control feature, there are many different styles of paddles and so the fan can still be a decorative feature within the room. Another reason to choose a fan without lights is if you have already decorated your room with the lighting of your choice such as with wall lights, spot lights, lamps and so on, there would be no need to add extra lighting, and a fan would finish off the look and add benefit.
