"Wall washing" is a kind of accent which generates a region of identical light. These are mostly used for focusing an artwork or photo session. The term wall grazing is opponent to wall washing because it has shadow like effect on its area of focus.

Display and cove lighting are also used in different places. Display uses low voltage fittings while cove are used for focusing on a specific area of a wall. Halogen or xenon bulbs are used, which are able to significantly brighten the focusing area.
