Lighting always has two sides to it, one is that it is for practical use and secondly it’s aesthetically pleasing. These same rules apply to lighting your driveway, it is functionally a necessity and secondly it gives your home curb appeal. Curb appeal is a saying that estate agents invented to show that your home does not only need to look good inside but on the outside too, your home needs to look good from the curb or the pavement. 

 

Lighting your driveway is just as important as it is to light your kitchen or your bedroom. Your driveway is where your car is kept overnight and so lighting this area makes good sense for your sense of security. There are many drive way lights to choose from on the market today such as drive over lights that fit into the ground, or bollard lights that go around the edging, or even wall lights to light the surrounding area. Not only will this lighting give your car and yourself safety but it will make the outside of your home more inviting and visually impressive. Getting out of the car at night is sometimes scary and there have been many reports that this is where people attack because you are in the dark walking from your car to your home and because it is such a short distance you will not expect it. Lighting your driveway will deter burglars and attackers from striking because the area will be well lit. This also goes for your car being left over night, no car thief will go for a car that is lit up as it is too easy for you or for other people to see what they are doing which increases the chance of them getting caught. 

 

The light from your driveway lighting will make your home look spectacular and pretty, the colours will add warmth to your front look and by taking away the darkness it will make your garden and driveway area appear larger and more spacious.
