Outdoor lights are a great investment to make as not only can you enjoy the benefits of outdoor lighting every day of the year but they will make your home appear ten times more elegant and sophisticated. Outdoor lights range anything from lamp posts to bollards, to drive over lights for the drive way to hanging lights in trees. The lights do not always have to be huge and extravagant pieces sometimes it’s the little touches that make the big difference.

 

A great way of maximizing the lighting in your garden is to add a water feature and then light the water feature. Water is sometimes a little plain on its own but with the added touch of lights it can look magical. The lights will reflect in the water which creates the illusion of more lights like a mirror effect and the water will add a sparkle to the overall look of the garden.

 

Most people fixate the garden lights to the lower levels such as the garden, the drive way, the decking and so on. A great way to increase the look and feel of your outdoor area is to place lighting higher up to lift the garden and the area. Hang fairy lights in your trees, these lights are very cheap to purchase and they are great for adding a little bit of light to your trees. Place an outdoor light on an outside wall high up at the top of the house to shine down on the garden from above. This gives a great source of light and it really gives the outdoors a sense of height and space. 

 

If you do not have a lot of space in your garden but want to ad some lights to open it up try and utilize the space you have rather taking up more space. Place lights in the ground or on the walls rather than stand alone fixtures so you are not crowding the space.
