When people come to buying lights for their home the obvious is always thought of first such as ceiling lights, a couple of wall lights, and a lamp or two for the corners of the room. You may be a little bored with this idea and want to try something new. A great way of incorporating lighting into your home without going about it the standard way is to think about specific task lights. What does this mean exactly? Task lights are lighting fixtures that are purchased and placed for a specific reason, such as a table lamp on an office desk is used when working on the computer or reading reports for example, lights placed around a mirror are purposefully when you need to use the mirror putting on make up or shaving and so on. Have a look around your home and see where you can install task lights that will give your room lighting but also give it a different look because it’s not the obvious.

 

Other examples of specific task lights could be lights over the pool table in the games room. Instead of having a standard ceiling light why not go for trendy and modern pool table lights, this will give off the same amount of lighting but it will add something more to the overall look of the room. In the dinning room instead of having wall lights and lamps for extra ambient lighting why not go for a low handing pendant light over the dinning room table. This will make your dinning room look inviting and fashionable while still being practical giving off light. Placing bath lights around the bath is another way of introducing specific task lights. Instead of having hundreds of ceiling lights installed why not install floor lights around your bath, this is specifically for when you have a bath and it also gives another form of lighting.
