Dining Room Lighting – The Many Options
Choosing a light for your dinning room is no easy task, there are so many options to choose from that you can be left feeling a little overwhelmed. When shopping for your lighting in the dinning room it is important to pick a light that will go in your home and not just in the shop. You need to think about the space you have and the décor of the home and of course your budget. Here is a look at some of the different options available for dinning room lighting.
Crystal Chandeliers
Chandeliers look very impressive and extravagant but they are only suited to certain types of houses and rooms. If your dinning room has particularly low ceilings then a chandelier is not the right light for you because although the chandelier will look impressive it will overcrowd an already non spacious area. If however your dinning room has high ceilings then a crystal chandelier or any style of chandelier would go perfectly especially over the dinning room table.
Lamps and Floor Lamps
Dinning rooms are used for different tasks on a daily basis sometimes more light is required for certain tasks such as when completing work or a project, however when entertaining guests with a dinner party you will want lower softer lighting. Lamps are great for adding softer lighting to a room whether it be a table lamp on a book shelf or desk or a floor standing lamp in the corner of the room.
Wall Lights
Wall lights come in a range of different shapes and styles and so you can choose a wall light to suit the existing décor of your house. Wall lights are great in dining rooms because they add that extra accent lighting which gives the room warmth and depth. Wall lights are to be used in conjunction with other forms of lighting whether you have spot lights or a ceiling light because wall lights alone won’t be enough to light the room strongly.
